We had the pleasure to meet Dena Almansoori and learn from her well-rounded experience in very different industries and from the different global business transformations that she has led as part of her career. Thank you very much for the valuable insights regarding HR technologies, the importance of human touch during this transformation and the future of it.
Dena started her HR career with Schlumberger, the biggest oil company in the world. After some years of experience, she moved to the retailer industry to work and expand Target in Canada. After this experience, she completed some additional experience in the banking space and then she came back to the UAE where she is currently working as a CHRO of the Central Bank of the UAE. Additionally, she is currently working in a startup that will be focus on HR technologies, the use of it and the future and the impact of this function.
As part of Dena’s conversation we also discussed the importance of leveraging technology with a humanistic approach and the importance of understanding the different types of technology that are available, the algorithm and what she called white box data in order to have a clear understanding of where the data is coming out and the process of it. Black box data is not always reliable and can cause catastrophic issues to organizations.
Dena left me with the message that as HR leaders we need to add value to the business asking the business if there is a better way of doing things and how the humanistic part can support the organization goals. Problem solving is a key skill for HR, evaluate cost/benefit is important for any HR decision and lastly the future of HR needs to be transparent and focus on employee experience.
